The Failsafe is pretty cool, just takes a bit more work to get it set up and running. It has an output you can wire to a warning light, or a standalone/piggyback to take action, or to the wastegate solenoid to make it cut the boost as much as possible. The only downside to it is you have to use a computer to set it up, so it's not very easy to adjust in the future. I think it would be a lot more versatile if used with a standalone where you can have it do more (pull timing or cut the revs for example), but it can definitely still be useful without it. For preference, well, they're both good and both use the same sensor (Bosch). I'd probably go with regular UEGOs just due to cost--things get complicated when you consider having two of everything ;)
